  Staff is average at best, some of the younger cashiers are nicer. Not a lot of products, will go out of my way to go to the metro or other IGAs nearby instead of this one whenever possible. Avoid and head for the IGA on Banantyne if necessary!

  Very small store so many things are not available. Also many brands including the grocery's own brand are not available. The stuff is fairly priced though and the staff are nice.

  It's fine if you treat this place like a big convenience store. Items advertised are often missing, not very clean, staff either overworked or don't care. Still better than 90% of "dépanneurs", but I rarely go unless I only need one or two items.

  I am co-founder of Service de Collecte Cans4Cash also know as C4CCS. We are a registered Quebec Enterprise who collects unwanted refundable bottles and cans from residents, businessmen and organizations. We also purchase unwanted refundable bottles and cans from said. We are a social enterprise. Social justice is of high importance to us. We are very hard working, honest, reliable, punctual and clean. We service both golden age residences on Gaetan Laberge and other organizations within the area. C4CCS has never had problems returning bottles and cans at any store in Verdun, Lasalle, or Ville Emard which is directly in the surrounding area of the IGA on Wellington. Sixty percent of the clients we serve are located in Verdun. Most stores know us by now, as we many times volunteer and give to the same functions and charities. Most stores know that C4CCS is partnered with Share the Warmth Foundation and they know we give back to the community via volunteer work, giving to charities and giving to food banks. In October of 2016, I was told by an employee of this IGA Champagne on Wellington that she was under direct orders from her manager / Mr. Mario St - Denis that the store does not accept more that one case of 12 beer bottles back in return for the refund at a time. I have written the store in question twice as well as writing directly to Sobeys Corporate... twice as well. Neither IGA Champagne on Wellington street in Verdun nor Sobeys Corporate has had the decency to respond to my questions moreover concerns & formal complaint. C4CCS as an act of social justice is standing up and fighting for the people who collect bottles and cans. We will not let this slide because we are being ignored, as mentioned already social justice is of the highest importance to us. This ploy tactic by IGA Champagne is directly targeted at the less fortunate who work sometimes 8 to 10 hours a day collecting refundable bottles and cans from the trash, recycling bins and dumpers and who are, most of the time, in dire straight situations. These hardworking industrious individuals are usually less fortunate who are intimated by such tactics. These individuals do not usually have a university education, they do not know their rights or the law, some are not wearing the best attire, some perhaps dirty, some have criminal records or are under the influence when they bring their collected refundable empties and are shunned away in fear that the police may become involved, SHAME ON YOU!
